Labyrinth Restoration Walks
The Healing Journey into God's Heart
If you're weary, or spiritually dry, or in need restoration, or you're seeking God's direction in your life and feeling uncertain, use our labyrinth to journey into God's heart and find what you need.
At the center of the labryinth that we use is the mystical rose. For early Christians the rose was an earthly expression for paradise, as found on the Catacombs of Callixtus in the 3rd century. In the 800s, Christians began to draw the "rosa mystica" as a symbol of Mary's purity and the fragrance of her grace from which Christ emerged as the incarnation of God on earth.
In our PRS labyrinth, the call to purity will draw you into the center of Christ's heart so that you can emerge at the end of the labyrinth walk ready to be Christ's newest incarnation on earth, i.e., a new (or renewed) part of his body, continuing his mission in unity with the Church according to the divine purpose for which he created you.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord,
"plans to prosper you, not harm you ...
when you seek me with all your heart."
A labyrinth is not a maze. God does not want you to feel lost, blocked, dead-ended, or confused. The labyrinth is a path to be experienced. It is circular and convoluted, but it always leads forward. There is but one entrance, one way into the heart of God, and one way back out into the world.
Our restoration labyrinth represents life in Christ: You might feel lost in the twists and turns of the path, because you cannot see where you're going, but you will never really be lost. The center is always nearby, and it's entirely reachable. When you leave the labyrinth, you will take with you what you found in the center.
You will go in carrying your burdens, or your doubts, or your weariness: whatever within you that needs restoration. You will also go in carrying your hopes and dreams and your longing to feel the closesness of God.
At the center, you will realize that you are in direct contact with God. You will contemplate his love. You will be invited to pray and to empty yourself, and in this grace-filled experience you will receive new life and new understanding. You will leave this sacred center no sooner than you're ready to go. Don't be tempted to rush through this meditation!
"See, I am doing something new!
Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
In the desert I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers."
The way out is as important as the way in. You will be lighter, more joyful, stronger, and ready to take on the challenges that await you back where you came from in the world. You won't really return to where you came from, not exactly, because you will have changed on your journey. You will re-enter the world in a new place, a place of renewed hope, with new energy and confidence.
